How it all started
Lucas and Olivia both grew up in Carmel, Indiana, even attending the same high school, yet somehow, their paths never quite crossed. Looking back, they’re certain they must have been in the same place at the same time more than once. They shared the same hallways, the same community, and even the same soccer field - Olivia on the high school dance team performing at halftime and Lucas on the team. But alas, it was not yet time for their story to unfold.
Life carried them in different directions after graduation, each off to their own colleges and experiences. But eventually, it led them both back to Indianapolis as they each pursued degrees in healthcare. Olivia was preparing to begin dental school, and Lucas was in the middle of medical school when they were finally introduced on February 25, 2021.
Our favorite memories
For the past several years, they’ve filled their time with travel, adventure, and making memories alongside the people they love most. Some of their favorite moments include summer lake weekends at Sweetwater with Lucas’ family, visits to Arizona to spend time with Olivia’s mom, trips to Kiawah Island with Lucas’s niece and nephew, JJ and Phoebe, and traveling to Europe to be with Olivia’s extended family. No matter the destination, their favorite part has always been simply being together.
Now, in the midst of their busiest season yet - residency - they find joy in the everyday. Whether it’s going for runs through downtown Indianapolis or meeting friends and family for dinner at their favorite spots, they’ve learned to savor time together. And they can almost always be convinced to stop at the Exchange cocktail bar for a night cap.
The proposal
On June 17, 2025, Lucas planned the most incredible proposal in Switzerland, overlooking Lake Geneva and surrounded by the Swiss Alps.
…and the best is yet to come!
Their next adventure will take them to Salt Lake City, where Lucas will begin his fellowship. They’re excited for this next adventure together and making more memories in a new city!
